You might not be aware, but yesterday was world diabetes day. Yes the easy to manage and preventable disease has now become an epidemic that merits its own day. It has become so bad in recent years that Mexico, the world’s fattest nation has announced a public health emergency due to their nations struggle with obesity and diabetes. Happy #WorldDiabetesDay?
The death toll from Diabetes alone in Mexico has reached new highs, bearing 100,000 deaths in 2015. A staggering number considering just 30 years ago the number was below 15,000. Approximately 9% of the Mexican population now suffers from Diabetes.
“It is the first time we have declared a health emergency over a disease that is not contagious, and we declared two, one for obesity and excess weight, and another for diabetes,”
-Pablo Kuri, Deputy Minister of Health
What could have caused this rapid spike in obesity & crippling diseases like diabetes? You may be shocked to hear that it has nothing to do with “impossible beauty standards” or the “oppression” of fat women through the lack of plus size clothing. Nope it’s just good old lack of excercise combined with constantly shoveling food into your face according to Mexico’s Health Minister Jose Narro.
“In 35 years, genetics did not change. What changed was the lifestyle of Mexicans,” – Jose Narro, Minister of Health
It seems like Mexico is really getting off its collective ass and starting to make some changes. Expect to see some shake up when it comes to government policies regarding diet, excercize & spreading brutal facts that Fatties try to sass away with social media nonsense, or crowdfunding “projects” that are scams so they can…spend more time pushing their narrative on social media instead of working.
In closing this truly is sad, as previously noted above this is a non contagious and easily prevented disease but fewer people have the self respect to make a change every year.
“We shouldn’t get used to diabetes existing and people dying. We can prevent that,” – Pablo Kuri
The only thing fat acceptance continues to push is a narrative full of misery and death, you would think these fatties could understand that the cold hard facts carry more weight than every their own bloated fupas.
