Fat Acceptance’s Scientifically Proven Skewed World View

The first time I heard the term “small fat” it made my head hurt. I may have been experiencing an aneurysm from the weaponized level of fat logic thrust upon me. A “small fat” is usually classified as someone who isn’t morbidly obese…yet. They can get the 3-4XL sized tarps at a regular store or wear some of the smaller selections at Torrid or Lane Bryant. I think we can all agree that there is nothing “small” about them.

Gut sticks out further than her breasts, arms thicker than most womens thighs, but she can walk up a single flight of stairs without keeling over and she can squeeze into a 3XL. Once seen as obese, say hello to the “small fat”, which will probably be called an “hour glass shape” in 2020.

Now if your wondering how we got here its really pretty obvious. Fatties hanging out with fatties makes them feel smaller than they really are. We all have a friend who makes us look better by contrast, now imaging amplifying that by making sure your entire social circle is morbidly obese. Suddenly you aren’t obese…your fat…but a “small” fat. Sounds absurd, but experts at Yale are agreeing with me.

Yale University’s Nicholas Christakis, a physician and sociologist, told The Washington Post that as the nation grows more obese, Americans seem to be resetting their beliefs — and understanding — of what a healthy weight is.

“As a person’s social contacts gain weight, it seems to change the person’s idea about what an acceptable body size is,” Mr. Christakis said. “This may result in him or herself gaining weight, or, even if it does not, it makes the person more accepting of other people’s weight gain.”

And that’s how you get deep fried sugar coated fat logic like this from @artists_ali.

3XL, aka TRIPLE EXTRA LARGE which according to fat activists like Artists Ali doesnt even count as plus size.

Yep, weigh more than most professional fighters? Pfft barely fat! 300 lbs that’s not even really plus size! I remember having a scale when I was a child that didn’t go past 300 lbs! Of course back in the 80s morbid obesity wasn’t as widespread as it is today. At this rate fatties will argue being able to roll out of bed and into a mobility scooter so you can ride your way up to the drive through will be seen as healthy morning excercise. After all everyone knows if you don’t need to visit the zoo for an MRI you aren’t really fat.
