#ThisBody Ad Campaign Banned From TV Networks

So it turns out Lane Bryant has a new ad campaign complete with a new hashtag called #ThisBody. The new ad features the plus size Sports Illustrated model Ashley Graham and several wads of dough with eyes and hair. Some may find this description a bit extreme but several shots from the video look just like this.

It may come to surprise you that ABC the network that airs popular reality show “Extreme Weight Loss” refused to air the ad. NBC which airs another popular reality show “The Biggest Loser” also decided the ad was below their standards. None of this surprises me, any network exec with half a brain cell knows not to show an ad that makes viewers change the channel. This ad would have me  downing tequila to block out the memory of those folds and the rancid McNuggets that are probably trapped deep within their fupa.

While Lane Bryant is quick to tow the Fat Acceptance line of how society can’t handle a fat woman (in the same way we can’t handle sepsis). ABC told People Magazine they were willing to air the ad if they made some changes, I have a feeling these changes were along the lines of “Stop showing folds and fupas like they are something to be proud of”. Lane Bryant would rather run and cried to every media outlet they could to get more exposure just like any fatty would on twitter or tumblr. The reality is that if people don’t want to air your ad they don’t have to. Big isn’t beautiful and fat is fatal, this isn’t news to anyone but the fatties who think their bloated sacks of lard are “curves”. Lane Bryant should realize this is why they can’t get their ad on two of the biggest networks around. They even disabled the comments on YouTube to avoid the harsh sting of reality.

Like their other failed campaign #ImNoAngel (because their aren’t wings strong enough to get these  in the air) this “controversy” will last as long as a fatty on a treadmill.
