Philadelphia, much like the rest of the country has an obesity problem, & no matter how often their local Fat Activist @Artists_Ali screams on her regular and her @Ok2BeFat account. Its gotten to the point where they just passed an additional tax on Soda.
Philly's new soda tax will cost an additional 50 cents a litre. Is it enough to get fatties to stop sucking down soda non stop?
Yep Philadelphia is the first major city to pass a soda tax, which will go into effect January 2017 and is expected to raise nearly $100 million dollars next year. These funds are needed to help fight the debilitating disease of morbid obesity especially in Philly where 68% of adults and 41% of children are obese. Clearly something had to be done and removing hundreds or thousands of calories from someone’s diet is obviously a step in the right direction. Yes some will just pay the tax but think of that as people paying into their future medical costs instead of it burdening everyone else.
People are already crying that this is just a tax on the poor which is hilarious because everyone with a faucet has a near limitless supply of a beverage that is not only free but better for you than soda!
Yep good old fashion water! Its free, has zero calories, readily available and its what every living thing needs to survive. We have reached a point where people are complaining about having to drink water. While they keel over at tragically young ages, or live a horribly low standard of living full of pain and misery.
I am sure we will head lots of fatties complaining about the soda tax in the coming days and weeks because the reality is coming down hard like Tess Munster on a scale. One way or another being fat is going to cost you.
