Did Fat Activist Artists_Ali Just Admit She Can’t Wipe Her Ass?!

Fat Activist Artists_Ali aka OK2BeFat is one of the more… “interesting” members of the fat acceptance movement. She often insists on labeling herself as radical and was the first fat activist that I saw piggybacking the struggles of gay/bi/trans people. With her 2 twitter accounts and tumblr she continues to spew nonsense. I do wonder if her day job would like to know how much of her paid time is spent saying it’s OK2BeFat several times during the day.

Typically it seems the fat activists that insist fat can be sexy would rather go after that “horrible” conventional beauty standard. When your arm fat is bigger than any of the ripped strippers in the room it’s time to put down the fork!

Now she’s trying to say that being so morbidly obese that you can’t wipe your ass is akin to the issues around gender and what bathroom you use. Yep, apparently stuffing your face for years until you need a wiping stick (yes it’s a real thing) isn’t a bad thing, infact its a legit disability according to Ali.

Ok so the fat hate goes as follows- “You think it’s ok for people to be so fat that they can’t wipe their asses”.

I see this constantly. And the answer to that is- Yes. Yes I do. I don’t put a size limit on anyone’s humanity.

But let’s break that down a little more-

First- the obvious- this is a purely bigotry against disabled people. There is so much ableism mixed into fatphobia.

But it’s also an expression of the disgust reflex that is inherent in fatphobia- the same disgust reflex we find in homophobia & transphobia.

-Ali Thompson

Note that she once again tries to ride on the coattails of groups that actually have experienced oppression in trying to gain some legitimacy. The article has no facts or references to back her argument up and she makes the weakest of connections between so-called fatphobia and real oppression. It’s interesting that someone who will be so quick argue any correlation between obesity and disease, disability, or death can make the weakest of connections when it benefits her narrative. The reality of the situation is if you are so fat that you need to wipe your ass with a rag on a stick it’s time to say you’ve made some really fucked up choices and turn your life around.

Still I wonder, why the need to all of a sudden write an article with no facts, or references. Why the need to focus on something so out of the blue like the shame of not being able to clean yourself after taking a sloppy wet shit? Is it because Artists_Ali has recently become so fat that she herself can no longer clean her own ass? Is this a sad attempt at trying to keep some tiny shred of dignity?

Ali (left) at her size, and notable arm fat might have recently lost the ability to clean herself after using the bathroom, and is trying to cling to the transphobic bathroom issues in trying to feel like a functioning human being.

As Ali continues to spiral down the dark path of suffering that many obese people do, I wonder, what Ali’s next folly will be? Talking up rights for the scooter bound? How it’s totally cool to be so far you can’t get out of bed and force your family to feed you since you can’t even walk to the fridge? Will bedpans be the new hot accessory according to Ali one day? It seems like even if they can’t wipe, fatties like Ali have no problem flushing their health and dignity down the toilet.
