Earlier the other day I noticed that Kiva seems busy with everything BUT her Kickstarter (which is running further behind schedule by the day).
I may have pointed this out a few times & apparently Kiva wasn’t a fan of anyone making a point about how much time she spends on anything but what she owes her backers. As of today it has been 8 months since her Kickstarter launched and she has nothing to show for it. What else is occupying this unemployed person who was given 30k in backing funds and has yet to deliver on a simple deck of cards you ask?
Well there is her extremely active twitter account for one. Logging 320 tweets a day and almost 10k in the last 30 days. I’m sure this couldn’t be slowing her down at all though..
Then there is her YouTube channel where she has posted videos regularly, and none of them have anything to do with her project which is still dreadfully late.
More than 12 posts in a month! 7 Posts about fat bias, 1 about drawing, & to no one’s surprise 0 having to do with her feminist deck project…totalling 1650 views, which would be a decent but fairly forgettable day for my site. Yet she continues to pour energy into her YouTube channel, and other pet projects instead of working on her fully backed and very late project. I wouldn’t say that is being very responsible and I would even go so far as to say it’s not fair to her backers.
Then there’s the fact that Kiva started selling avatars on twitter today because her “finances were shit”, yes for a mere $35 a pop you too can have a twitter avatar done by an artist who has yet to deliver on her projects. Keep in mind that if she finished her feminist deck on time she could have simply sold more decks for more money. Instead of keeping her promises though Kiva just moves on to another way to cash in.
I hope she hasn’t been dipping into her Kickstarter fund, as KickStarter has very clear rules about using your backer funds for anything other than what you have stated the $ will go for. Still asking some very basic questions to Kiva directly about why she simply doesn’t seem to want to do anything about her project resulted in a block, and her locking her account to authorized followers. So now Kiva is safely wrapped in an echo chamber of her followers where she can do anything but complete her projects while getting nothing but praise for doing pretty much nothing.
That’s not all though, fearing criticism from her lack of progress and her questionable work ethic Kiva has now decided to keep all of her Kickstarter updates private so no one can call her out on her shit.
Note how she says distraction from online harassment is an issue. Not her posting videos on YouTube more consistently than her communications with her backers! Not her hours a day spent on twitter! Now Kiva is trying to say that the reason she can’t make deadline is because she can’t deal with the “harassment” she gets for not making her deadlines? Fun fact, I didn’t even start talking about Kiva until december 2015 which was the deadline for her project and when the project was roughly 7 months in the works. So I don’t see how someone asking a few questions about her work ethic could have so easily derailed a project that should have already been completed.
According to Kiva the mere act of pointing out how poorly she is spending her time and energy is more of an issue than her lack of commitment to her own projects. If anything this is a blessing because she can’t blame anyone anymore right? So when there is no one left to blame what’s next? Computer failure? Issues with the printers? Eventually people will start to wake up and see that like most of the obese, she is the only one preventing herself from being any sort of success.
